Join a FREE workshop at the Botanical Center to learn about permaculture favorite, Hugelkultur (pronounced Hoo-gul-culture), which means hill culture or hill mound. They hold moisture, build fertility, maximize surface volume, and are great spaces for growing fruit, vegetables and herbs. Hugelkultur beds typically require no irrigation or fertilization as they use rotting wood, twigs, branches and even whole trees that would otherwise be discarded.
This workshop is free thanks to the URI Master Gardener program. Registration is required. Pre-register 24 hours in advance by emailing email@example.com.
