Have you noticed the new staging and workers buzzing around the Temple to Music and Betsey Williams Cottage over the last few weeks? Don’t worry – it’s good news!
Thanks to the generosity of the Champlin Foundation through the $10 million campaign for RWP, the crumbling Temple ceiling is being replaced with new plaster and paint as well as gutter repairs. Temple restorations also include repointing and waterproofing the notorious Vermont marble that is nearly 100 years old.
Through a grant from the State Preservation Grant from the R.I. Historical Preservation & Heritage Commission, the Betsey Williams Cottage is undergoing a complete interior and exterior restoration! One day we hope to reopen the Cottage as a visitors center for the community and guests to learn more about things to do and see in Roger Williams Park!
