The park is open for daily use, but not for parking your car!
Effective Saturday, May 9, all City of Providence parks, green spaces, and bike paths are open for local access and active use only. Ball fields, courts, and playgrounds remain closed and parking is not permitted. Roger Williams Park is open for you to enjoy, but all venues and athletic facilities remain closed.
Residents are urged to follow all current social distancing and hygiene practices and to wear masks when using these spaces in accordance with recent guidance provided by Providence Mayor Jorge O. Elorza and Governor Gina Raimondo.

When will the public be able to park on the street in Roger Williams Park?
Not until at least June 5, according to the Mayor and Parks Department. Stay tuned here for updates.

Does anyone know when the swan boats, carousel, and playground will open? Planning to come in late June.
The City has not yet announced a formal re-opening of the swan boats, carousel, or playground in Roger Williams Park. Hopefully we will be able to loosen some of the restrictions in the Park after June 5 but we do not have any details at this time. Stay tuned to the website here where we will provide updates weekly as things change.
When will we be able to park in the Park? I’m handicapped and require a wheel chair but Ill be damned if um going to park the car on Elmwood Ave and wheel myself in. So when can we drive in and park?

It was announced again that the parks are open. Paring in Roger Williams is open except from the hill down to Park Avenue entrance. Why is this?
The Mayor has decided to keep the City’s parks at half capacity. So, you may see closings like this persist in parks around Providence. Stay tuned for updates. As they happen we will announce them.
