❓Did You know??
The Japanese Lantern Statue currently on display in the park's Japanese Garden is one of 14 identical statues dedicated in 1841 by the Japanese Feudal Lord Toronoa Tsuchiya. This lantern was given to the City of Providence in 1954 to commemorate Newport native, Commodore Matthew Perry's diplomatic mission to Japan. It has been on display in the park since then.
⁉ What Season do you like the statue best?
❓Have you taken photos in the Japanese garden?

🪿🪿Roger Williams Park once held an annual “Parade of Geese” where the park’s geese were led on parade to Polo Lake for the first time of the year after the spring thaw. 🌱The ceremony also included music and poetry. 🎶🎼
