The Botanical Center is several buildings, but the largest is the glass and steel conservatory.

Covering 12,000-square feet and standing 40-feet high, the conservatory is part of New England’s largest indoor public garden; 23,000-square feet in total. The conservancy was designed to accommodate large indoor trees. Today, palm trees tower over visitors creating shady paths in the year-round tropical warmth.

Long before the Botanical Center opened in 2007, the Parks Department greenhouses were on Park Avenue but were demolished as part of constructing Rhode Island Route 10.
