Nature Walk

Meet at the Museum of Natural History (map)
Discover the great variety of plants and animals inhabiting Roger Williams Park and learn to identify wildflowers and urban wildlife with a naturalist from the Museum of Natural History. Additional dates: September 1, October 6 and November 3.

Family Birding Walk
Sunday, August 5 | 8:00-9:00 AM
Meet at the Dalrymple Boathouse (map)
Discover the birds of Roger Williams Park on a guided family birding walk along part of the Park’s Big Lakes trail, presented in partnership with Ocean State Bird Club. Binoculars will be available. Recommended for ages 5 and up.

Moon Hike
Sunday, August 26 | 8:00-9:00 PM
Meet at the Museum of Natural History (map)
Explore the moonlit trails of Roger Williams Park with Museum of Natural History Director Renée Gamba while learning about the night sky and nocturnal animals. Additional date: September 24.

There are also plenty of opportunities for self-guided nature exploration. Discover several miles of woodland trails that wind along the water’s edge, or take a tour of the Park’s notable trees.
